OUR MISSION
The mission of Dominican contemplative nuns is centered on a life of prayer, contemplation, and dedication to God. These women live in cloistered communities, focusing on deepening their relationship with God through silence, solitude, and prayer.
- Prayer and Contemplation: Dominican contemplative nuns dedicate themselves to a life of prayer, both communal and personal.
- Spiritual Formation and Study: Rooted in the Dominican tradition, which values truth and wisdom, contemplative nuns often engage in study,
- Evangelization through Prayer: While they do not engage in active external apostolic work like teaching or preaching,
CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER
Contemplative prayer is a form of silent, reflective prayer that focuses on deepening one’s relationship with God. It is not primarily about asking for things or reciting words, but rather about being present to God’s presence and cultivating a sense of inner stillness and awareness. This type of prayer has its roots in ancient Christian monastic traditions and is closely associated with Monks & Nuns. It can also be incorporated into daily life for those who seek a deeper spiritual connection with God. In fact all are called to live a contemplative life but not all are called to live in a contemplative setting like Monks & Nuns
